PEACE CAUCUS AT THE UNITED NATIONS
MISSION AND PURPOSE STATEMENT
Our mission is to mainstream issues of peace by working through the United Nations, the media, and civil society and to present the issues from the conferences and peace programmes of the United Nations to the general population in order to influence public opinion.
Our purpose is to promote a culture of peace by giving frequent timely and informative programs, by creating and maintaining a website, and by lobbying governmental and non-governmental delegates to assure that the following items are included in the UN conference processes:
Military spending
Military production
Economic conversion
Weapons trafficking
Non-violent conflict resolution
Nuclear weapons and power
Landmines
Impact of armed conflict on children
Peace education
Women at the peace table
Conscientious objection |
